Your Specific Responsibilities:

 

This is professional nursing work in Contact Tracing and Case Investigation. Access to confidential records and computer access.

Uses knowledge of quality improvement (QI) methods and processes to work with other staff to help identify opportunities for improvement and develop a culture of quality within DOH-Indian River; assists in improvement projects, as assigned.

Assists with coordination and provides enhanced surveillance and tracking of all communicable diseases to determine outbreak or presence of disease in accordance with IRCHD All Hazards Emergency Plan.

Responsible for daily epidemiology MERLIN database maintenance tasks including investigation and interview of cases of reportable communicable diseases.

Assists in planning and conducting in-service programs, and professional education for employees, community-based organizations, and private providers.

 

Qualifications:

Minimum:

  • Active Florida RN License or a multi-state license from another Compact State
  • Basic Life Support Certification
  • Required to work before, during and/or beyond normal work hours or day in the event of an emergency
  • Flexible work hours
