Your Specific Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive oral health screenings and dental exams for enrolled children, following Head Start and Early Head Start Performance Standards and state regulations.
• Interpret intraoral photographs of oral structures, taken by qualified personnel, for the diagnosis and management of dental infections and related oral diseases.

• Provide preventive care, including fluoride treatments, sealants, and oral hygiene instruction tailored to young children.

• Diagnose and treat common pediatric dental conditions, referring to specialists when necessary.

• Develop individualized dental treatment plans and maintain accurate, compliant dental records.
• Records procedures and services rendered to clients in client record

• Collaborate with Head Start health coordinators, teachers, and family advocates to integrate oral health into the child’s overall wellness plan.

• Educate parents and caregivers on proper oral hygiene, nutrition, and preventive care strategies.

• Participate in community outreach events to promote oral health awareness and connect families with resources.

• Ensure compliance with all Head Start, state, and federal health and safety guidelines.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Possesses problem-solving and analytical skills

Communicates effectively verbally and in writing

Ability to travel as necessary, providing own transportation

Ability to work independently

Qualifications:

Minimum –

• Licensure as a Dentist in accordance with Chapter 466, Florida Statutes
• Must have a valid Florida Drivers License

Preferred –

• Board Certification in Pediatric Dentistry
