Your Specific Responsibilities:

This position spends the majority of the time engaged in supervisory responsibilities. This includes communicating with, motivating, training, and evaluating employees in addition to planning and directing employees' work. The incumbent has the authority to hire, transfer, suspend, lay off, recall, promote, discharge, assign, reward, or discipline subordinate employees or effectively recommend such action. The incumbent will also be required to develop performance expectations, meet with staff regularly to discuss performance, complete performance reviews, maintain vacation and work schedules, ensuring proper coverage, and complete timesheets.

This specialized position supervises the Disaster Preparedness Program and coordinates planning, training and exercises related to Preparedness. This position is primarily liaison to emergency management and staffs Emergency Support Function (ESF) 8 when activated. Incumbent in this position coordinates necessary elements for CE Broker for continuing education for staff under the direction of the Administrator.

Reviews and updates plans, fosters community partnerships, provides trainings, exercises, and coordinates the Cities Readiness Initiative (CRI), the Special Needs Shelter Program (SpNS), Everbridge, and meeting stated Public Health Preparedness Expectations.

Prepares exercise activities and documentation in accordance with Homeland Security Exercises and Evaluation Program (HSEEP).

Reviews and re-reviews Comprehensive Emergency Management Plans for local hospices, nurse registries, home medical equipment agencies, and Home Health Agencies.

Prepares and submits program and contractual reports related to Public Health Preparedness by specified computer programs including local and State Special Needs Registry, Expect Preparedness, Everbridge Alert and Notification System, FPHRAT, Royal 4, WebEOC, and Inventory Management and Tracking Systems (IMATS). Required monthly CRI reports are submitted through TEAMS.

Attends community meetings as assigned. Conducts staff meetings and community partner meetings to communicate changes, policies and procedures related to Public Health Preparedness.

Completes time sheets, employee activity records, travel logs and other paperwork as required by position.

Performs other work as assigned.

Qualifications:

Minimum – Currently employed by the Florida Department of Health

Preferred – 3 years experience in Department of Health (DOH) preparedness office. Experience with Emergency Support Functions (ESFs) in Brevard County
