RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES
Investigators are sworn law enforcement officers who are responsible for investigative and logistical support to Assistant State Attorneys in their preparation and prosecution of criminal cases. Responsibilities include initiating investigative work to support pre-trial and trial preparation, investigation follow-up, may testify in court as to conclusions and evaluation of evidence, maintain safety and security, locate and interview victims and witnesses, perform service of process, serve as a liaison between State Attorney’s Office and law enforcement agencies, provide emergency management and assistance, and perform a variety of duties as
requested.
MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
A high school diploma or equivalent and four (4) years of sworn investigative or sworn law enforcement experience. Experience or education in criminal justice related field may be substituted for sworn law enforcement experience. Current FDLE certification and ability to successfully complete all required pre-employment drug, physical, and background screening.
DESIRED SKILLS
Attention to detail and accuracy, ability to work independently and as a team. Computer literacy and strong organizational skills. Ability to lift a minimum of twenty-five (25) pounds.
