SALARY: $57,570.24 (Annual salary of $54,826.20 plus competitive area differential pay of $2,744.04)
The essential functions of the position within the Fifteenth Judicial Circuit is to provide advanced administrative coordination and clerical support to the office of Court Interpreting. Responsibilities include assisting judicial offices, court service programs and litigants with securing coverage for interpreting services, collecting and inputting data for statistical purposes and performing clerical tasks; such as, processing incoming mail, scheduling meetings, maintaining calendars, filing, scanning, faxing, photocopying and distributing supplies. Uncompromising integrity and confidentiality is required of the individual in this position. The Scheduling Specialist also serves as the liaison between the interpreter’s office and the judicial offices as well as other internal and external customers, while working under the direct supervision of the Court Interpreter Supervisor and the Director of Court Interpreting.
Essential Duties
- Provide administrative and fiscal support to the court interpreting department and other court staff.
- Collects and analyzes data for statistical reports, assist in conducting surveys
- Composes/drafts and/or types correspondence, reports, emails, and other documents observing strict confidentiality.
- May provide temporary coverage for other court administration departments.
- Screens telephone calls and in-person visitors; provides information to the public and/or directs caller/visitor to appropriate office or staff.
- Sets up and maintains files, books, records, and other departmental systems of responsibility.
- Provide database updates as required.
- Schedule court interpreters for court hearings.
- Gather and maintain information/data to support periodic and special reports.
- Makes copies and distributes to appropriate personnel or department as designated.
- Performs clerical tasks such as processing incoming mail, collecting and distributing case information, performing data entry, filing, or photocopying.
- Maintains daily, monthly and yearly statistics regarding volume and types of cases handled.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in public or business administration, criminal justice, psychology, or a closely related field.
Three years of professional administrative related experience.
Bilingual English/Spanish speaker is preferred.
Relevant experience and/or education may substitute for the recommended minimum qualifications on a year-for-year basis.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Must be highly organized and detailed oriented.
- Proficient with Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel.
- Ability to work within deadlines to complete projects and assignments.
- Ability to work independently and establish work priorities.
- Ability to work in a paperless system.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in writing and verbally.
- Ability to maintain effective working relationships with other court personnel and outside agencies, legal professionals, litigants, and the general public.
