This open competitive advertisement is for a Career Service position located at Region IV in the Directors Office.
The mission of the Government Operations Consultant II is to effectively coordinate and manage comprehensive training programs for community corrections, ensuring that all staff are well-prepared and compliant with annual training requirements. We are dedicated to developing and delivering high-quality training curricula, providing technical assistance, and supporting the professional growth and certification of newly hired probation officers, all while maintaining the highest standards of excellence and adherence to policies and procedures.
This position is not a telework position and is required to report to the FDC office in the area it serves.
JOB DUTIES:
- Coordinate and manage community corrections training activities and budget within the assigned region.
- Plan, manage, and administer training programs, including developing curricula and lesson plans.
- Assist with scheduling and instructing various training courses for Correctional Probation Officers and recruits.
- Maintain training records and ensure compliance with annual training requirements using E-Train and ATMS II systems.
- Provide consultation, technical assistance, and manage activities for newly hired probation officers, including their training and certification.

REQUIREMENTS:

- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
- Must possess a General Instructor certified through FDLE.
- Must be Correctional Probation or Correctional Officer certified.
- Must be able to travel overnight as necessary to conduct/facilitate training as needed.

BACKGROUND SCREENING REQUIREMENT
The Florida Department of Corrections requires all job applicants and volunteers to pass a Level 2 background check as per Chapter 435, Florida Statutes. This check must be completed before they can start working or volunteering.
