Position Overview and Responsibilities:

The Florida Department of Environmental Protection protects, conserves and manages the state’s natural resources and enforces its environmental laws. Each position works together as a whole to advance Florida’s position as a world leader in protecting natural resources.

 

This is an advanced level Government Operations Consultative position. This position will conduct organizational studies and evaluations on office procedures providing technical assistance and developing procedures to assist the Southeast District Office -Business Planning Program to operate more efficiently and effectively. Duties involve permit processing evaluations, technical work and the application of Department rules and statutes associated with the Business and Permitting Programs. Additional leadership associated responsibilities may be added in the future.

 

Recommends operation policies of the Workflow Team and assists in the establishment of procedures, as required, to implement policies, achieve operational objectives, or resolve operational problems in a timely manner.

Monitors workflow operation activities to meet specific measurable service objectives to assure compliance with statewide goals, including but not limited to Time to Process (TTP).

Investigates, assesses, analyzes and makes recommendations to resolve Workflow permit processing issues and problems.

Provides daily consultation and assistance to management and staff in the management and operation of service programs and responsibilities.

Consults with program supervisors and administrative staff to resolve programmatic, administrative and operational issues and problems.

Ensures permit applications ( UIC, ERP, Potable Water, Wastewater) are processed within District goals and objectives; also Includes an additional Program area-Potable Water.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Valid Driver License 
  • At least 3 years of verifiable related experience in administrative support is required for this position.  Post-secondary degrees may be used as an alternative for the required years of experience on a year-for-year basis. An credential evaluation report from an approved agency must be submitted along with all foreign degrees.

 

 

Position of Special Trust Requirement:

This position is designated as a Position of Special Trust in accordance with DEP Directive 422, Positions of Special Trust or Responsibility. Successful completion of background screening will be required for this position.
