Description of duties: The FWC’s South Region is seeking a highly motivated candidate to join a team of biologists and technicians in Palm Beach County, FL. This position provides administrative, secretarial, and clerical support to Wildlife and Habitat Management Section staff in the North District of the South Region. This small field office includes staff from J. W. Corbett Wildlife Management Area (WMA) and John C. and Mariana Jones/Hungryland and DuPuis Wildlife and Environmental Areas and is located on J. W. Corbett WMA. Responsibilities include maintaining and organizing paper and electronic files, assisting with purchasing and ordering supplies, mailing, managing routine office equipment and services (e.g., alarm, pest control, fire extinguisher), obtaining quotes for services, compiling, reviewing and processing equipment tracking forms, counting and depositing iron ranger collections, scheduling meetings, coordinating staff training, and complying with purchasing card policy and procedure implementation. The successful candidate will serve as a receptionist, greeting and responding to the public in a courteous, respectful, and positive manner. The position will work with the team of other administrative support staff within the South Region to coordinate and complete invoice processing procedures in a timely manner. In addition, the position must be able to identify and track items that require office response, and sort and route to the appropriate personnel. Knowledge of MyFloridaMarketPlace, the Purchasing Card system, and purchasing standards preferred.  


Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:  Must be familiar with and able to utilize computers, computer software (including Microsoft Office applications), telecommunications equipment, and other basic office machines. Must be able to answer calls from, and provide assistance to, the public in a courteous, respectful and positive manner. Must be well organized, punctual and display a cooperative and professional attitude. Must be able to work well with others. Must have a valid Florida driver license and be able to use FWC vehicles to travel to other offices as needed.
