THIS IS AN OPS POSITION.

The Agency for Persons with Disabilities works in partnership with local communities to support people with developmental disabilities in living, learning, and working in their communities. APD provides critical services and supports for customers with developmental disabilities to reach their full potential. The Agency serves people with spina bifida, autism, Down syndrome, children age 3-5 at high risk of developmental disabilities, cerebral palsy, Prader-Willi syndrome, Phelan-McDermid syndrome, and intellectual disabilities. There is no charge or co-payment for services provided through the Agency.

BACKGROUND SCREENING REQUIREMENT:

It is the policy of the Florida Agency for Persons with Disabilities that applicants for employment undergo Level 2 employment screening in accordance with the requirements of Chapter 435, Florida Statutes, as a condition of employment or being permitted to serve as a volunteer.

REQUIREMENTS:

Must be a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst

Must have at least 5 years of post-certification experience as a behavioral analyst

Must have experience providing direct services to individuals with developmental disabilities

***DUTIES:

Employees of the Agency for Persons with Disabilities are required to demonstrate total commitment to outstanding customer service. This includes, but not limited to, acting in a responsive, professional, courteous manner with the employees, customers and public we serve at all times.

Works under the direct supervision of the Clinical Supports Regional Program Supervisor in the Southeast Region and in consultative fashion with group home providers, behavior analysts contracted with providers and with the Agency, state office Senior Behavior Analyst/designee and community stakeholders to assure behavior analyst services are implemented in accordance with state rules, regulations and memos of understanding.

Conducts reviews of behavior plans and relevant documents for completeness and clinical soundness at local Review Committee (LRC) meetings. Schedules LRC behavior plan presentations. Chairs the LRC meetings and actively participates in and leads the review process of behavior plans. Attends any other meetings or staffing in which the behavioral expertise, review or recommendations are required. Records and maintains the minutes of the LRC meetings and distributes electronically to providers. Maintains a database of behavior plans approved. 

Compiles monthly documentation of reactive strategies submitted by providers to Field or Regional office, prepares monthly summary report and submits electronically to State Office. Designs data bases, checklists, training materials and other related tools to improve the delivery of behavioral services. Conducts literature reviews regarding specific behavior disorders and state of the art treatment to provide technical assistance to providers.

Trains providers on the reporting form and provides technical assistance on this matter.  Provides training and technical assistance sessions to support coordinators, providers and agency staff regarding regulatory practices, behavioral services and QSI. Conducts preliminary screenings of behavior assessments and assist in providing feedback to behavioral providers.

Participates in the determination of eligibility process for intensive behavior and behavior focus residential habilitation and issues related documents on behalf of the region.  Maintains the Board Behavior Analysis Certification in good standing.

Performs any other related activities as requested by the Senior Behavior Analyst and in consultation with the Clinical Supports Regional Program Supervisor. Other duties as necessary to support Southeast Region functions, including but not limited to Emergency Operations Activities and community crises.
