Your Specific Responsibilities:

This position spends the majority of the time engaged in supervisory responsibilities.

Develops and administers dental program budget within the framework of the strategic plan.

Monitors clinic expenditures to remain within approved budget. Coordinates all dental department purchasing, assesses budgetary needs, develops bid packages and purchase orders. Certifies invoices for payment.

Reviews administrative policies and operational procedures, identifies potential problems, recommends appropriate action.

Coordinates School Based Sealant Program and manages any associate funding grants. Serves as the data manager for the Florida SEALS program and provides training and technical assistance to dental staff using the program. Completes required school-based sealant reports

Coordinates a county dental health education program; provides information to teachers, nurses, and aides in schools, clinics and nursing homes; and provides assistance and information to school board and county administration in dental health education.

Coordinates activities related to evaluation of preventive programs involving the use of topical fluorides to community groups, schools, day cares and geriatric centers; interprets policies, procedures and standards for implementation of fluoride programs.

  • Ability to teach clients on specific health issues, promotion of wellness, maintenance of health and prevention of disease

Qualifications:

Minimum:

  • Ability to motivate, develop, and direct people
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others
  • Knowledge of strategic planning, resource allocation, manpower modeling, leadership techniques, and production methods
  • Knowledge of public health principles, practices, and techniques
  • Valid driver’s license

Preferred:

  • 1 year supervisory experience
  • 2 years’ experience working in a dental office
  • Experience with Eaglesoft or Dentrix dental software
